A seminar titled "Forests for a Disaster-Resilient Future" was held at

Bulanık Vocational School, which operates under Muş Alparslan University, in collaboration with the Muş Forestry Directorate.

The event addressed the sustainability of forest ecosystems, their role in combating climate change, and their importance in reducing disaster risks from an academic perspective. The program provided participants with comprehensive information on preventing natural disasters, particularly forest fires, early intervention methods, and community-based disaster awareness.

The presentation by a field expert highlighted the climate-regulating function of forests as carbon sinks, their critical role in biodiversity conservation, and their contribution to post-disaster recovery processes. Additionally, students were introduced to fire-fighting equipment and participated in practical training activities.

During the field application, the technical specifications and operating principles of fire extinguishing vehicles were explained, and the importance of correct intervention and coordination during a disaster was emphasized to the participants. This hands-on training has helped students reinforce their theoretical knowledge with practical experience.

This activity has been evaluated as an important step towards strengthening university-community cooperation, increasing students' professional awareness, and creating a disaster-resilient society. Furthermore, it has been stated that the event provided academic and practical contributions to sustainable environmental management and disaster risk reduction policies.
