Collaboration for the Future: "One Health Concept" Seminar Attracts Great Interest

Muş Alparslan University Bulanık Vocational School; The "One Health Concept," based on the fact that human, animal, and environmental health are inseparable, was discussed in a seminar. Veterinarian Süleyman KARAARSLAN from the Animal Health Department of ZOETİS, one of the world's and Turkey's leading pharmaceutical companies, participated as a speaker, emphasizing the importance of multidisciplinary work against global health threats. "Health is a Whole"
In his opening speech, seminar coordinator Lecturer Yıldırım ÇELİK stated that zoonotic (animal-to-human) diseases, which have affected the world in recent years, prove that the One Health approach is not a choice but a necessity. Veterinarian Süleyman KARAARSLAN, the speaker at the seminar, stated the following in his speech: "It is not possible to fully secure human health without protecting nature and animal health. The solution to the enormous problems we face, from antibiotic resistance to epidemic diseases, lies in medical doctors, veterinarians, and environmental scientists working together at the same table with a common strategy." The seminar, which attracted significant interest from participants, highlighted the following key topics:

Combating Zoonotic Diseases: The fact that 75% of pandemics originate from animals and early warning systems.

Food Safety: The critical role of veterinarians in the "farm-to-fork" healthy food chain.

Antimicrobial Resistance: The devastating effects of unnecessary antibiotic use on the ecosystem.

Climate Crisis and Health: How changing climate conditions update disease maps.
At the end of the seminar, Veterinarian Süleyman KARAARSLAN answered questions from the audience and emphasized the need to establish "One Health" units at every level, from local governments to academic institutions. Dr. [Name], the deputy director of Bulanık Vocational School, also participated. The event concluded with the presentation of a certificate of appreciation to Faculty Member Feryat ALKAN.
