“Be Prepared for Disaster, Save Lives!” Event Held at Bulanık Vocational School
An event titled “Be Prepared for Disaster, Save Lives!” was organized at Bulanık Vocational School to increase disaster awareness and social consciousness. The event, coordinated by Lecturer Rezzan Pekcan Ekinci, was held with the contributions of the Muş Red Crescent.
As part of the event, students and staff received training on disaster awareness and preparedness. The training covered fundamental topics such as precautions to be taken before a disaster, correct behavior during a disaster, and first aid actions to be taken after a disaster, increasing participants' awareness.
Another part of the program was a blood donation event. In this effort, conducted by the Red Crescent team, the importance of blood donation was emphasized, and blood was collected from volunteer donors. This contributed to blood stocks, which are greatly needed both during disasters and emergencies and in daily healthcare services.
The event also included training on setting up a Red Crescent tent, provided by Red Crescent officials. In this practical session, participants were shown the technical details to be considered for the rapid and correct tent setup in a disaster area.
The “Be Prepared for Disaster, Save Lives!” event, held at Bulanık Vocational School, provided students with both theoretical and practical knowledge, significantly contributing to strengthening the culture of disaster preparedness.
