"Sustainability: Education and Social Service" Workshop for Students of Our Vocational School
Muş Alparslan University's Bulanık Vocational School organized a workshop themed "Education and Social Service" for students as part of the "Sustainability Development Goals Workshop Series – 1." Numerous students attended the program, which took place on October 30, 2025, at the Bulanık Vocational School Conference Hall.
The educational portion of the event was presented by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Zekeriya Çam (MAUN). Çam emphasized that sustainable development is possible through education, saying, "We are talking about a transformation that begins in the classroom and spreads throughout society; critical thinking, inclusiveness, and lifelong learning are the foundation of this transformation."
The social service aspect was addressed by Dr. Ahmet Usanmaz and Dr. Hüseyin Doğan from Ağrı İbrahim Çeçen University. Usanmaz stated, "Social work brings sustainability to the field through outreach to vulnerable groups, social justice, and solidarity," while Doğan stated, "University-local government-NGO collaboration strengthens students' field experience and creates real impact."
The workshop was coordinated by Lecturer Mehmet Latif Candemir. During the question-and-answer session, students learned about career opportunities, social projects, and volunteering. It was announced that the series will continue with different topics.
