"March 8 International Women's Day" Talk Held at Our Vocational School
The "March 8 International Women's Day" talk organized by our Vocational School's Social Services and Counseling Department was held with the participation of students. The event was organized by the department instructor Dr. Lecturer Neriman Morkoç, and social service expert Gamze Kısa was invited as a speaker to the talk.
*Historical Process of the Struggle for Women's Rights and Equality*
Within the scope of the talk, social service expert Gamze Kısa discussed the historical process and social importance of March 8 International Women's Day in detail. Kısa talked about the historical events that took place during the process of gaining women's rights and how this struggle has a place today, and drew attention to the ongoing efforts to strengthen the place of women in social life. She emphasized that March 8 is not only a day of celebration, but also a symbol of women's struggle based on equality and justice.
*Experiences from the Field and Social Service Work for Women*
Gamze Kısa shared the knowledge and experiences she gained during her field work with women with the students. Kısa, who touched upon the social and economic difficulties women face, emphasized the roles that social service experts undertake in this process. She provided information to the participants about the projects, support mechanisms and social service interventions carried out for the empowerment of women.
The students who participated in the event asked questions about the topics they were curious about. The students, who asked questions on various topics such as women's rights, difficulties encountered and solution suggestions, gained awareness about the meaning and importance of the day at the end of the talk. Gamze Kısa answered the students' questions and emphasized the importance of creating awareness for the empowerment of women.
At the end of the event, a certificate of appreciation was presented to social service expert Gamze Kısa for her contributions. Dr. Lecturer Neriman Morkoç, who organized the event, thanked Gamze Kısa for her valuable contributions and stated that women's rights and the struggle for equality should always be kept on the agenda.
