Our Rector Meets with Students of Our Vocational School
As part of our university's traditional "Student Meetings" program, our Rector Prof. Dr. Mustafa Alican met with students at Bulanık Vocational School.
"University Years, The Turning Point of Your Life"
In his speech, our Rector stated that university years are one of the most valuable periods in an individual's life and that these years should be appreciated. He gave important advice to our students by saying, "You will never have such a comfortable and full period in your life. Use this period well and improve yourself and invest in your future."
Examples from His Own Student Years
Sharing his memories of his own student years, Prof. Dr. Alican expressed his passion for books in particular. He said, "Reading gives people a different perspective and provides a balanced perspective on life. I recommend that you make reading a way of life." Advice for Emotional and Social Life
Our Rector stated that students should not only focus on academic success, and emphasized that they should also take care of their social and emotional lives. He conveyed important lessons from his life experiences by saying, “Live your feelings without exaggeration, a person is what they are occupied with. Do not love anyone too much, do not hate anyone too much; see people as they are and value them as they are. Do not rush when making important decisions in your life, be patient.”
“We Raise Well-Equipped Individuals”
Our Rector, who talked about the importance of making the right decisions for young people, stated that university years offer a unique opportunity in terms of personal development. Stating that as the university administration, they support students’ social, cultural and personal development in addition to their academic success, he said the following:
“You are our future. In addition to having a good profession, we care about you growing up as well-equipped individuals who can make a difference. Therefore, definitely take advantage of the social, cultural and sports activities we offer you.”
Our Rector, who had the opportunity to chat with students one-on-one during the event, listened to their opinions, questions and demands. Our Rector, who stated that students' feedback is of great importance to them, stated that such meetings strengthen the ties between the university and students and will continue. The program ended with a souvenir photo, and our Rector, who stated that meeting with students was meaningful and valuable to him, thanked everyone who participated.
