Food additives and their use in foods are of great importance in terms of food safety all over the world and in our country. One of the issues that consumers are most misinformed about in terms of information pollution is food additives. Food additives, additives and additive mixtures are used in a wide range of sector products. The specified additives and additives are used in the production of food products, in improving and regulating their qualities, in adapting them to industrial production techniques, in increasing the added value by extending their shelf life and in preserving the sensory properties of final food products. Considering today's lifestyle, economic system, technological and social structure, processed food products are consumed frequently and this makes the use of food additives mandatory. However, it is important to use additives in line with their intended purpose and in appropriate dosages. After providing information about GMO (Genetically Modified Organisms) products as well as food additives, the seminar ended by discussing questions from students.
