Yuca; “Life flows locally and local needs a compass. Local press is that compass. Local press that conducts objective journalism is the guarantee of freedom. It is an extraordinary pride and an extraordinary success to be able to continue this work uninterruptedly for years in the media sector in Turkey, and even more so as the local press. That's why I congratulate you with all my heart. Local media has to live. Because life flows locally and local needs a compass. Local press is that compass. The local press, which conducts objective journalism, is the guarantee of all our freedoms. It is the guarantee of our freedom of thought and democracy, so its value is immeasurable. Now, our friends Mehmet Fideyil Temel and Galip Kılınç, who have been journalists in Muş, Bulanık for more than 20 years, will share their experiences and knowledge with you today. Thank you again for your participation. " he said.
Muş Alparslan University Dr. gave information about the definition of local media accompanied by slides. Lecturer Feryat Alkan drew attention to the importance of local media in the development and social awareness processes of the province, district and region where it is located. He also emphasized the critical role of the local press in announcing local services and contributing to democratic processes, while also expressing the economic and social difficulties faced by the local press locally.
Murat News Site, Bulanık Newspaper and Media Owner Journalist Writer Mehmet Fideyil Temel, who took the floor later, expressed the difficulties faced by the local press and said that the local press should be protected.
Stating that the local press is struggling to survive with digitalization, Temel continued: “It is even more difficult to do journalism, especially in the districts. For the daily publication, there must be new news to read. Besides the newspaper, there also needs to be a news website. If we go into detail, many problems and difficulties arise. I have been working as a journalist since 2004. I still follow the news and work when necessary at every stage, including page preparation. "said.
Stating that they did not make news that would negatively affect Bulanık's image, Temel continued as follows; “This country is ours, this district is ours. We want our district to be remembered with good things. It should be remembered for its social, cultural events, achievements in education and sports. In other words, when a newly appointed friend of ours searches for Bulanık on Google, he should encounter the events, achievements, natural beauties and historical texture I mentioned. Our aim, as local media in Bulanık, is to create a public opinion for our future, to bring services to our district in the social, cultural and economic fields, and to take initiatives in this field, and to bring the common sense to the fore in Bulanık.” said.
Speaking at the last panel, Anadolu Agency Bulanık Representative and Bulanık Bilican Newspaper Concessionaire Galip Kılınç stated that the reporters working with the stamp did not receive the reward for their efforts; “This is not just limited to me. All my friends working in the region work under my conditions. Also, we do not have the concept of overtime. You can wake up in your bed in the middle of the night and go to the news. Stamped reporters earn as long as they produce, but you cannot earn when you cannot produce. It is not like a worker with a fixed salary. "You enter news about whatever is on the agenda." Said.
Kılıç stated that it is not easy to publish news locally and continued his words as follows: “People cannot talk easily, they have concerns, so it is difficult to reach the news source. Also, the news density in the central provinces is not the same here, you are trying to produce original things. “You are in a constant state of pursuit.” He stated:
Panel; It ended with the presentation of plaques to the speakers after the question and answer session.
