Our Rector Examined the Historical Cemetery in Mollakent Village
Our Rector Prof. Dr. Mustafa Alican examined the historical cemetery in Mollakent Village, a district of Bulanık.
The visit was attended by Bulanık District Governor Ömer Övünç Koşansu, Malazgirt District Governor Göksu Bayram, Malazgirt Project Academic Advisor Prof. Dr. Adnan Çevik, Exeter University Islamic Archaeology Department Head Timothy Insoll, Bulanık Vocational School Director Prof. Dr. İrşad Sami Yuca, Ege University Faculty Member Prof. Dr. Haluk Sağlamtimur and the Malazgirt Project team.
During his examinations of the historical cemetery, our Rector touched upon the cultural and historical importance of the region and emphasized the importance of protecting such areas and supporting them with scientific studies. Within the scope of the program, studies that can be carried out to protect the stonework, gravestones and historical texture in the cemetery were discussed.
